For dealers

List inventory for buyers who read the evidence.

List cars one at a time, or stage inventory from a spreadsheet. We check each uploaded VIN's format, quarantine failed rows, and show inventory, token, and view metrics in your dashboard.

Why dealers list their inventory on PleaseStart

Use prepaid packages to lower your per-listing cost and present inventory buyers can research. Listings go live only after review.

Spreadsheet inventory upload
Upload your inventory as a CSV or XLSX file. We check each VIN's format and check digit and quarantine rows that fail. A token is spent when an import creates a new draft listing; an update to an existing listing does not spend another token. Bulk upload does not publish drafts yet.
Token economics
One token is spent when you submit a listing for review; approval is not guaranteed. An approved listing stays live for 30 days once published. Buy in bulk to lower per-listing cost. No subscription, no per-lead fee.
Inventory and token dashboard
Track active and total inventory, available tokens, token usage, and listing views over the last 30 days.
Quarantine, not silence
When an upload row fails, the recorded error carries an error code and message, such as "VIN check digit is invalid (position 9: expected 'X', got '5')".

Upload your inventory as a spreadsheet

Export a CSV or XLSX file from your existing inventory system and upload it. There is no integration to configure and nothing to install.

1

Start from our template

The template workbook contains an inventory template, a field guide, and an error-codes sheet.

2

Map your columns

If the required fields are not recognized automatically, you can map your columns. A saved mapping can be reused for the same feed when the detected header layout matches.

3

Review import errors

Recorded import errors include an error code and message to review before preparing another upload.

Bulk upload does not publish listings yet. A token is spent when an import creates a new draft listing; an update to an existing listing does not spend another token. A row can still fail after validation, for example when no token is available.

Accepted formats: .csv and .xlsx. Older .xls files are not accepted — re-save as .xlsx first.

Simple, prepaid pricing

One token covers one listing submission. Buy a package up front and your cost per listing drops as your volume grows — no contracts, no recurring bills.

A different deal for dealers

Choose a prepaid token package for your inventory. No monthly subscription, per-lead charge or paid placement.

  • Pay per listing, not per month. Buy tokens up front and spend them when you list.
  • No per-lead fees, and no cut of your sale. You keep the full transaction — we never touch the payment.
  • Placement is not for sale. Listing scores help buyers assess listing information. Buyers can filter by listing score and sort search results by date, price, mileage or year.
  • Clean titles only. Your inventory sits beside vehicles held to the same quality gates—not salvage titles or watermarked photos.

Dealer FAQ

How does dealer pricing work?

You buy a token package up front. One token is spent when you submit a listing for review, and approval is not guaranteed. A token is spent when an import creates a new draft listing; an update to an existing listing does not spend another token. A listing that is approved and published stays live for 30 days. There is no subscription, no monthly minimum, and no per-lead charge — you pay once for the package and list when you are ready.

Do you take a cut when a car sells?

No. PleaseStart charges only for listings, through tokens. The sale happens directly between you and the buyer — we never handle the payment or take a percentage of the price.

What are the listing standards?

Clean titles only. Digital watermarks and text or logo overlays are prohibited. Suspected watermarks need review before publication; dealer plate frames and vehicle badges are allowed. Every listing is scored before it goes live.

What happens after I apply?

Every dealer application is reviewed before approval. After approval, complete your dealer account setup before buying tokens and listing inventory.
